The financial meltdown was caused by the Real Estate Bubble bursting. The reason it burst was because of the lax lending underwriting of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac during the Clinton Presidency.

Just because something happened when Bush was President, doesn't mean he caused it. Except in the minds of the Wackos on you favorite websites like Huffpo, DU and Daily Kos. Those of us who don't live in a psycho-bubble understand how these things work.
