Atom versus Celeron

I know the Atom was originally designed for the low-powered netbooks, but I am seeing more regular laptops with a choice of Atom and Celeron.

How do you compare these two? They are both budget processors, seems like their functions overlap.

Blessed are the murderous.

Intel Celeron = "economy" (low performance), normal power (5.5 W – 86 W)
Intel Atom = normal performance, low power (0.65 W - 8 W)

Celeron will eat your laptop's battery... and babies.
