Rightards continue to deny climate change

Unbelievable how incredibly wrong and stupid they are. And they want to elect The Donald to the highest office in the land.

It's because they choose political party over science. They actually believe dopes like Ted Cruz and James Inhofe instead of Neil Degrasse Tyson, Carl Sagan, Bill Nye and all the other brilliant scientists.

Modern human civilization, with its permanent agriculture and settlements, has developed over just the past 10,000 years or so. The period has generally been one of low temperatures and relative global (if not regional) climate stability.

And you dopes think that Bill Nye is a "brilliant scientist." lol

Given that he strongly promoted the idea of being skeptical about everything within science, Sagan would be repulsed by the religion of climate change.

Sorry, but it's you who don't understand.

The period in Earths history that you're referring to,(the PETM period) was caused by huge amounts of methane from the seabed, creating a greenhouse effect of a different sort than what we are experiencing now. Today, methane is NOT the main cause of the warming. It's c02. More particularly, it's man-made c02, which is heavier than naturally occurring c02.

There is absolutely no doubt that the human species is killing itself as we speak. Sure, the Earth will survive, as it always has, just without us.

Uh, no...

But having multiple hard science degrees myself, I know how to distingush actual science from bullshit, entertainment, political misdirection, and dogma.

So essentially what you're saying is that YOU are smarter than Bill Nye and that you're explanation of climate is more feasible.

Sagan warned about Climate change long before Al Gore ever heard of it. You dummies insist it's Al Gores creation, when scientists have known about it since the 30's.

Heavier? lol

No.

Stop trying to pretend that you have any sort of science background or understanding. You're a parrot.

Heavier, yes. Ever heard of isotopes? The guy who posted this about heavier co2 didn't stated it particularly well, but what he was talking about was that one of the reasons scientists can tell that the ongoing increase in co2 in the atmosphere is because of human activity is the isotopic ratio of the co2. The increases comes from coal and oil use (mainly), not volcanos and other natural activity. You might try learning something about science too, rather than being a parrot for right wing denier websites.

First, you have no clue what my explanation might be. So you fail there from the get.

Nye is an entertainer and routinely misrepresents science.

And I also understand the difference between "your" vs "you're."

BS. That's a simplistic reading of an excerpt from an intro to one of his books. Which is about the extent of your understanding.

I know very well what isotopes are. As well as isomers, allotropes, and other types of chemical/physical variants. And you're misrepresenting how such are used and what that means. Few question that human activity has increased CO2 levels.

I've already embarrassed Numbers over this several times now but I guess it's hard for him to let go of the religious fables that he's been told.

That is much later than what I was talking about.

The IPCC already was in place by 1990 so, no, he was not some thought leader on the matter.

Regarding the difference in isotopes in c02, here is a good explanation.

Plenty of deniers question this. The same people think the universe is 6000 years old and that ID is science. You don't think so? Just look at republicans in congress. Or Mike Pence.

There's no need for links for this. Virtually nobody questions that humans have added CO2 to the atmosphere. But that's not how such isotopic measures are employed. The use of isotopic ratios have been proposed for use in more localized mapping of emmissions, given the nature and lifetimes of isotopes, not for some "proof" of climate change. The people here citing them as such don't understand how they are used or what this means.

I'll just leave it at this,
If your kid gets sick, he's having trouble breathing, do you take him to
a) a politician
b) a preist
c) a doctor
d) a psychic

If you chose a doctor, which type of doctor would you see?
a) a foot doctor
b) a brain surgeon
c) a respiratory specialist
d) a witch doctor

This is how silly climate deniers approach climate change. They look to politicians first, then witch doctors, then social services has to come and take the kid away to save his life.

Which just demonstrates your own confusion.

Let me try one more time to get through the religious programming that you've been subjected to.

That humans are adding CO2 to the atmosphere and that CO2 *may* act as a greenhouse gas aren't really the questions.

That temperatures may be rising, though debateable in terms of significance, cause, timeframe, and a variety of other bases, isn't really the question.

You have an simplistic view of the matter and your posts reflect that.

The substantive questions (yes, there are significant questions which actually are the subject of substantial scientific disagreement, not some unified consensus as it tends to be represented), relate to timeframes, rates, extent of effects, etc., without the context of which the former above are relatively meaningless.

Furthermore, the entire scientific debate has become so polluted by politics and cult-like dogma to the extent that what all means in terms of any real effects/response has become completely distorted. As the ultimate evidence of that you can look to the Paris and Coppenhagen accords where the only real hard number is the $100 billion/year which is to be transfered to undeveloped nations who are the driving force behind the religious movement and for purposes not even tied directly in any way to "climate change."

Yeah, and in the 1970's we were told we were entering an ice age. You are easily fooled.

While the rightards continue to deny climate change, the numbers keep telling a different tales. As I read through this thread, there's a lot of LOL, "sky is falling", idiot responses but not much in the way of facts. Irrespective, the OVERWHELMING majority of scientists say climate change is real and is man made.

I'm scratching my head trying to think the last time the rightards were correct about anything policy related.

Reading comprehension is hard for the libtards.

Modern human civilization, with its permanent agriculture and settlements, has developed over just the past 10,000 years or so. The period has generally been one of low temperatures and relative global (if not regional) climate stability.

It's a matter of trust. The scientific community has foolishly allowed the politicians to get so involved in the climate issue, that many do not trust your intentions. If co2 is such a problem, why was China allowed to continue on and sell their pollution levels to other countries because they were a "developing nation". Are you kidding? Nobody believes that. And Al Gore torpedoed the climate change boat while raking in over $10,000,00 for himself. And what happened to our imminent demise from the deteriorating ozone that you inundated us with throughout the 80s? Did you fix that when we weren't looking? Or did the climate change problem due the co2 increase seal it up? Yes, I'm afraid that you used up our unquestioned trust in what you say, and so you now need to offer a reasonable explanation, and some solutions equil for all minus political shenanigans that give money to some countries at the expense of others. And, oh yes, you may want to find a better spokesmen than Al Gore. At $10 million dollars, he is rather expensive considering he substantial credibility issues he has. Even Tipper didn't believe him and left his ass.

You want to know why you guys are considered dumbasses of the human race? Look no further than this thread.

Only dumbass liberal politicians spew those lies in order to push their agenda to create a CO2 tax so they can steal more money from citizens.

No Vexxed, you go ahead and listen to your party as the word of God. The God of your income.

There is no God, so how could I like or dislike something that never existed?

Plants use CO2 to grow. I use CO2 tanks and pump extra into my grow rooms.

You've got to be a special kind of stupid to think CO2 from humans is causing the earth to heat up.
