Donald Trump’s business staff writer, Meredith McIver, today claimed responsibility for Melania’s plagiarized speech given at the Republican National Convention Monday and offered her resignation, on Trump business organization letterhead.

Since Meredith McIver is a Trump business organization employee, and not a listed Trump Campaign employee on any Federal Election Commission filings - it appears her speech writing support for the campaign was illegal.

It is illegal for Corporations to donate directly or through in-kind donations to political campaigns.

Given that McIver is a Trump business organization employee, provided her services as a Trump business organization employee to the Trump campaign, and offered her resignation from the Trump business organization on Trump business organization letterhead - Trump business organization resources were illegally used on the Trump Presidential Campaign.

Fortunately for Trump, writing a speech does not rise to the level of "criminally negligent" or "extremely careless" level of the many Clinton scandals.
