You should read up on what a chapter 11 bankruptcy is. A chapter 11 bankruptcy means a company is going under and assigns a judge to make payments of assets.

Wrong, changes in the economy are what usually result in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company filing has lost money and is asking the Courts to provide them with protection from creditors while they submit a plan to resolve their issues with the Court.

Once that plan has been accepted by the creditors, it's put in place and the Company continues on with a plan to pay back the creditors.

The only reason the uneducated are banging on this is because Trump puts his name on everything and therefore it's more visible. Berkshire Hathaway has filed many bankruptcies but because their name isn't on the companies, the public is not as aware of them.

Nope, he didn't say anything different than I said but insinuated I was wrong or lacking knowledge. First of all the Court does not appoint a Judge to make payments. The Court appoints a Trustee to oversee the reorganization plan. The Judge simply reviews the plan and then either accepts or rejects it. The Creditors have major input. The purpose of Chapter 11 is not to "Fuck the Investors". Anyone who has ever run a large Corporation knows Investor relations are very important and running a large Corporation is a little more complex than managing a McDonalds Restaurant.

In regards to Trump University.

They boast a 98% approval rating for their students. Most of what I have heard is from people who are dissatisfied with the results and feel like they wasted their money. I'm pretty confident that when this gets to Court, that Trump is going to parade many successful student in to make these disgruntled appear to be exactly what they are...Losers.

These complaints are akin to someone going to Harvard, getting low grades and then blaming Harvard for not "making" them a success. Truth is there are always going to be people who no matter what classes they take are not going to do as well as others. Then they decide to try and get their money back by casting themselves as victims and filing lawsuits.

I agree some of the sales tactic were very aggressive but I also know what it takes to convince someone who is very likely an unmotivated person looking for pie in the sky without fully understanding that all Trump U can do is provide them with the knowledge, skill and support to be successful. They can't do it for you.

Some take educational courses like Trump U. Harvard, State Universities, Strayer College etc. Many succeed and many do not even though they take the exact same courses. The difference is not in the material they learn, it's how they apply it.

No, actually Harvard doesn't make false claims.

That's what the lawsuits are about. Did Trump University really provide the product they claim and was it just a scam to take peoples money and sell worthless books.

From the looks of the "playbooks" it sounds as if Trump U was more concerned about continuing to milk each person out of their savings, not teaching. The typical Madoff scam, keep taking their money.

I'd say Trump U meet fraud standards-

I think the central issue the Courts will have to decide is if this is actually a case of Sales Puffery or actual fraud. I admit I do not know the precise details of all the claims but there is a difference between the 2.

Having been in sales for many years, to my ears, Trump U. definitely used high pressure tactics and advanced closing technics, but I'm just not sure if they crossed that line.

Even Politifact acknowledges that four bankruptcies in 25 years is significant. In fact, CNN Money states that "no major U.S. company has filed for Chapter 11 more than Trump's casino empire". Investors and banks know they are taking a risk. But they don't go into these transactions expecting to lose money.

I looked at these courses from Trump U. They were packaged as over priced seminars. If I had money to piss away I would have done it as I thought it would have been cute on my resume. I really wish I had now. Anyone who thought this was a true university is an idiot.

Rich Dad/Poor Dad, Tony Robbins and Daymond whats his name from Shark Tank all sell the same type educational products. All have lots of buyers remorse if you google any of them.

True but the difference with Trump U was it structured to "take peoples money" not to provide a service. In CA that's a problem when you look at the fraud laws.

In CA you have to have the intent to provide a service for money. Just taking peoples money from advertisement is fraud in CA.

That's a big problem for Trump and Trump U. Trump has also admitted that he "personally select and approved." That's another problem.

Just like social security.

LOl, new evidence popped up again in the case. This just won't go away. Expect Trump to call out more judges.

Instead of figuring out which part of this guy is a fraud I think it would be better to figure out what is legit and just consider everything else fraudulent.
