The guy drove to a high school and murdered his estranged wife before she could pickup their two children. He also shot another person in the process and fled. This is a pretty brutal and heinous crime. It made the news for sure. However, it didn't seem to get plastered all over like some murders do.

Could they have tried harder to catch him? The guy who shot the TV reporter on Roanoke was caught hours later. He wasn't even in his car.. he was in a rental car and was caught through an automated license plate reader. They actually did work to find out he rented a car, got its tags, and entered it into the system.. and got a positive hit. Yet this guy is driving around all day long in his own car that's no secret to law enforcement. He's walking around, shopping, eating.. shooting people.. and no one even recognizes him.

Was it assumed this was an isolated case and less effort was put in? I obviously have no idea, so this isn't accusatory.. but it's kind of a shocking result. The guy went on to murder two more freaking people and shoot two others. I think this particular is far more fucked up than the attention its receiving. We see horrible shit all the time but this one is on the higher end of bad shit I've seen in a while.
