Would love to know more of your story, really. I had a similar experience with FTRA in 96. Was on a train heading north to Spokane, WA in a open box car. Old dude's pretty chill. We're drinking thunderbird and watching the scenery. Then all of the sudden he freaks out and starts yelling at me about how I stole his boots in Fresno, CA. He pulled out a knife and started telling me how he was gonna keeeel me and then throw my body under the train wheels. By the grace of God the train slowed down enough to where I could jump off. Threw my gear then myself. Got roughed up a little but found my gear and walked it off. Pretty much gave up on freight hopping after that mess. Back then you had some pretty sketchy people riding. Ex cons, illegals, and mental patients. People who otherwise couldn't function in regular society. Heard that nowadays the FTRA is pretty much gone. Either all the old timers died off or got arrested. A lot of people who claim they're FTRA are full of shit. Now the bull's pretty much a tactical unit when they used to be douchebags in suits. Also fines are a lot stricter because of terrorist shit.
