Bulldozing Cities?

Yes, from my favorite News starting point, the DrudgeReport.com:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/financetopics/financialcrisis/5516536/US-cities-may-have-to-be-bulldozed-in-order-to-survive.html

I like how this article comes out in a UK post. But hmm - what about all these new "green" jobs that are supposed to take the place of the old ones? And how does demolishing an already empty area reduce spending? Seems like it is a way to justify more local governments taking back private land (by condemning it or taking ownership through these schemes where they can buy properties cheap) and then resell it to developers later.

It seems to me maybe they should use these areas to entice new businesses in by offering lower cost areas to start a business.

I think it will take more of an investigation then a 5-6 paragraph article to decipher whether the plan has merit.

They can tear down Dale City. I was taking RT. 1 tonight and wondered how Prince William let it get so depressing and run down.

They should bulldoze DC. Leave the Mall and monuments, tear down the rest and start over. It should never have been made for residents; it became just another shitty generic city.

Another reason why it shouldn't get representation in Congress.
