Facebook question

Please FB experts.

A relative of mine is on FB but I'm sure has me blocked.

From another relative I heard they are still registered and using FB, but when I type their name in to search for them their name doesn't even show up.
How is this possible or is it?

They comment on others posts but I can't even see it.

Serious responses.

You're blocked. Why don't you call this person and have a real conversation about the problem between you?

Ying Ko: I agree that I am blocked. But still shouldn't I be able to at least see their name in the search box?

When a person blocks you their name will not come up when you search for it. The blocking feature makes that person invisible to you in every aspect. If they "like" something you will see that in the total number (12 people like this) but if you click on the "12 people" you will only see 11.

I agree with the above poster, work it out if you can. If the person refuses to work it out then just let it go. It's their issue to hold on to. Don't let it consume your time.

All good answers. I do appreciate this last very detailed answer.

But the solution in this case is beyond working out.
Clue: It's a daughter in law from Hell.

Ah, the games of FB - aren't they fun.

fb_fail. Yes, I actually block games also.

Guess the issue I brought up in a person blocking is more the rule than the exception. Must be relative wars all over FB.

Since the other person won't participate in working it out then my original answers stands... let it go.

Don't spend another second thinking about it. Spend your time being happy. Let them do whatever works for them.

Life is short and in my view the people who spend time actively fighting with other people or worrying about what those other people are dong are wasting precious time.

Move forward and enjoy each day. May sound flowery but it's working for me.

Log out of your account and try searching them up. Depending on their privacy settings you may be able to see them. You can also log out of your account, and look at one your relatives who you know has them, and search their friends list.

I dont know how old you are OP but i think it's time you ease yourself into the real world and leave FB to the children and seniors and mentally ill who appear to be the only people still using FB.

I guess that depends on what you're using it for. 95% of FB is people posting selfies or announcing they have a date for saturday night, like anyone cares.

It wasn't until about three months ago when I deleted my account entirely that my name vanished off the facebook search. I have max privacy set which worked for the web but not in the facebook search.

I deleted my facebook account because I was fed up with all the facebook drama I was getting dragged into. Now I just say "I don't do facebook I'm not dealing any facebook wars you're on your own." Kinda funny, now everybody is inviting me to private parties because I'm not on facebook and they know I'll never post any facebook stuff.

FB is what you make it. It's as strong as your configured security settings are. If you are friends with people you know/care about only, you should be fine. Also, no one is not telling you to use your real phone #, etc.

Read the fine print of the facebook agreement.

Facebook requires that you use your real name and phone number as it appears on your credit cards, driver license and birth certificate.

Facebook periodically runs validation programs against the names to make sure your name is real. Facebook uses your data to give to marketing firms and for the US gov to build background data on people. Also see if you are associated with terrorists, tax cheat or criminals.

The first thing security\clearance checks do is pull your facebook data.

If it's a daughter-in-law, it's a mother-in-law being blocked. Not a dude.

Mom, the cards are in your hands and there is no better relationship to invest in than that of your son's wife. Get some help and make things right. Whatever you have been doing is wrong. Learn a better way.
