Family Member Addicted to Zolpidem (Ambien)

Who the fuck gets addicted to Ambien. Apparently an inlaw with kids is addicted to it and pain meds. She has turned into a piece of shit. She is a single mom and has an 11 yr old and has completely f'd her up. Family has called social services and her X has custody but she is fighting to get it back. She is broke but manages to spend 4k a month on drugs.
FYI she is white and was raised in an upper class family. Her sibs are all very successful Drs & professionals. Makes me hate prescription drugs.

Sorry to hear of this person's troubles...but...
Not everyone can handle certain things...alcohol, for example.
And it it weren't prescription drugs, who knows what might bedevil some people.
For the most part, drugs don't make people f'ups...being f'ups makes people f'ups. Take away drugs, there will still be bottom of the barrel f'ups.
Others can handle prescription drugs, alcohol, even "illegal" substances like marijuana, and use them sparingly, or not at all...without getting "hooked" or f'ing up their lives.
And so to penalize those who can handle them, and need to use them in a legal manner to combat pain and live somewhat of a normal life should not be the answer.
Try living with a painful condition and truly needing these things...in today's "anti-prescription drug" environment.
Sucks.

this is why she beleives fucking foreigners and doctors trying to get rich wouldn't dare kill her for prescription fees
she was tought it couldn't happen. for some the bubble bursts and they are driven half made coping with "the real world". for others - they will follow their beleif in trust of others until it kills them
