Spoke with Vine. Apparently a spokeswoman accompanied Mr. Basl to the court case he lost. They are aware of the accusations he sent the messages to himself and have already opened an investigation.

I wonder what kind of consequences someone can face for taking advantage of such a serious program, wasting time, money and resources on someone who could have actually needed them.

You would have to say you were in fear for your life to say that you took death threats seriously enough to have someone arrested for it and to get a protective order on them. Does this look like a scared man? A man who shows off his many firearms to everyone on this site is afraid of Mr. Misery?
