I, Darren Wilson, hereby resign my commission as a police officer with the City of Ferguson effective immediately. I have been told that my continued employment may put the residents and police officers of the City of Ferguson at risk, which is a circumstance that I cannot allow. For obvious reasons, I wanted to wait until the grand jury made their decision before I officially made my decision to resign. It was my hope to continue in police work, but the safety of other police officers and the community are of paramount importance to me. It is my hope that my resignation will allow the community to heal. I would like to thank all of my supporters and fellow officers throughout this process.

Wilson did get fucked over but he did the right thing. I just hoped his lawyer worked out a good deal because I'm not sure he will have much recourse since he resigned.

He left because he was scared. If they're gonna riot over him, You know someone would take a shot at him on patrol. He's gonna have to move miles away too. Maybe a name change. Then when people come up to him and say 'you look like' he'll say 'I get that all the time'

his decision to resign has nothing to do with being a coward. his career as a cop is over. he will always have a target on his back, and he needs to think about protecting his family. its sad his career is over for doing his job. the city did not screw up this case, it was screwed up from the start because eric holder, obummer, and the dept of justice put their noses into a case that didnt involve them. lets not forget, the race bating obummer and holder told that chief NOT to release anything about the shooting. by the time the chief said anything about it a week later, riotting had already begun. most pd's, release a statement about a shooting within 24 hours. since nothing was released, these idiots in ferguson get it in their minds that the pd is trying to cover up the shooting in favor of their own, no matter if its a good shooting. holder and obummer are directly to blame for the way this information was handled, because they demanded the chief to be quiet and not make a statement. this was an obvious case of race baiting, and they are just as bad as al "not so" sharpton, and jesse jackson.
