A Taste of Cherry: review by Roger Eggbert

A Taste of CHerry is an Iranian film from the early 90's starring an Iranian guy and a few other Iranian guys. THe Iranian guy drives around Tehran asking people to help bury him after he kills himself by taking all his sleeping pills. Finally the guy finds another Iranian older guy who's a taxidermist who agrees to bury him or if he doesn't die help him out of his grave. For a moment the first Iranian guy seems to have second thoughts when he goes back to the taxidermist Iranian guy, but then he only asks the taxidermist Iranian guy to throw some rocks at him and shake his shoulders just to make sure he's not just sleeping. THe Iranian guy ultimately does kill himself, but we never find out of the taxidermist Iranian gay actually kept his promise to bury the other Iranian guy. Instead, the camera pans out to film the filmmakers making the move while the song St. James Infirmary Blues plays.
