Democrats argue "they spent money already". Conservatives argue "you can create communist china zones free of US intervention by claiming to already have spent money before being sued".

FOR STUPID MILLENIALS: claimed 2,500 jobs is a lie. the battery cases will be made in china - they all are. US does make batteries but battery companies don't make the cases because they are a rough cheap process with low margin (bankers say that - the reality is they keep saying that and USA ends up making nothing). The lithium and lithium preparation (chemistry) would also be from china (ie not DOW) (because it's a natural resource of china). that leaves only rough assembly that is better done by an automated facility.

lithium batt. are light weight but have several problems:

* ownership by facist china attacks on USA industry, increasing their military power to attack usa mainland

who of course want lying democrats in control who are promising them the right to create a chinese small government in michigan free of lawsuits and in a tax free zone

* 14V-16V not 12V-13V. the batt. are not economical to make at 12V. it screws up car electronics that expect 12V. it will literally burn out any incandescent bulbs quicker, making all older cars in usa un-maintainable. it's possible to make Li 12V cells but more expensive and the CHINESE ARE SEEKING INCOMPATIBILITIES not preventing them

there is a war on power control chips - it's why power supplies in all appliances are crap these days. it's why many devices fail and are not repairable. and incompatibility and non-replacement is at the core of this chinese electronics war in the electronics sector.

* more expensive charging: low cost auto chargers don't work well with Li batt

* INTERNAL BATT MONITORING req'ed. Li batteries require "power chips" and these chips always have chinese bugs that shut off battery and needs "special handheld devices to re-enable". these batteries catch themselves on fire without it causing vehicle damage.

* HIGHER PRICED BATT. they are double the price of lead-acid batt, although lower weight

* NOT LONGER LIFE. the chinese ads are of course all lies. i've owned 2 (2 just to be sure the first wasn't a glitch). they last the same amount of time as lead-acid IN YEARS. they don't require charging as often but for cars that usually isn't an issue

* DO NOT WORK worth a shit IN COLD AREAS LIKE MICHIGAN AND CANADA. neither do EV.

* it's not necessarily true they are lighter: the technologies required to make the light ones ARE WAY MORE EXPENSIVE than the other kind. the other kind suck are worse than lead-acid.

* THEY ARE SMALLER - and FORD and GM might "change the batt. compartment size" in future vehicles to PREVENT Interstate Batteries (which ARE Made in USA) from fitting in future cars. also it's stolen technology from USA GOV and duracell/energizer companies - who filed patents on "everything" back when nicad became a new product - a long time ago.

* Chinese (and CA Pelosi) are trying to pass to make gasoline vehicles illegal. THESE BATT ONLY WORK IN GASOLINE VEHICLES. the chinese would rule the factory but make bills to close the factory down. WHAT ISN'T SAID IN THE ARTICLE IS THAT FEDERAL MONEY TO BUILD ROADS REQUIRED - AND LAND WOULD BE SEIZED RIGHT OF WAY TO BUILD FACTORY - probably theft of parkland to payment to some bank for property they stole through political democrat tactics. (how did a bank come to own the land we absolutely SHOULD ask). they are building a factory that they are trying to close down. it's a sabotage operation from start to finish.

* like lead-acid, don't require 2,500 employees. they will quickly begin layoffs - AND PROBABLY BEGIN IMPORTING batt made in china using a MADE IN USA label, using the factory as a facade for a shell operation. GM has been accused in other cases of getting MADE IN USA put on parts that were infact 100% made in china.
