For once. Truly, he has no fucking clue as to what to do about abortion. Today, leave it up to the states. Yesterday, permitted federally up to 15 weeks. Who knows about tomorrow.
Bottom line, Trump knows this is an issue that can fuck him both ways. Too easy on abortion, the evangelicals (whom he can't lose) get pissed. Too tough, millions of angry women are going to all of a sudden develop TDS. Either way, he has already run his mouth too much on this issue. Now comes the blowback.
Let's see how he ends up threading this needle.

Trump tried this in 2020. When Trump started losing swing voters he pivoted to trying to say very liberal things. It didn't help him win in 2020.
Trump was a fool for saying no national abortion ban. He should have stayed with a federal ban.
