Maxell tape points - what to do?

Is there anything that points that came with Maxell tapes can be used for? Yes, I'm a couple decades late but I still use blank cassettes and new VHS tapes. Inside the box there are little stickers with point values on them (see sample pic). Can these still be used for anything? I probably have enough points for a beach ball, thermos or something. Can't find any info online. Anyone else find use for these points?

Ahh the Max points. I actually got a poster from them in 1994 with my Max points. The poster was from their famous 1980s tv ad where the listener was sitting in a chair and his butler put on his music. Everything int he room was blown away from the stereo.

I called then in 1996 inquiring on how to redeem them and the person who answered abruptly switched me over to a recording explaining that the program has ended.

It would have been far better to just explain over the phone. Bad customer service.

You needed trained? Kapton tape and razor blade are all you need. A splice block was helpful but you didn't need it in a pinch.

I have the same Maxwell Poster framed and hanging above my stereo rack. Steve Steigman's 'Blown Away'.

The stereo components cost several thousand back in the day and I have kept them pristine all these years. I had the amp (Pioneer SX-1980) re-capped a year ago and it sounds better than ever. Speakers were re-coned too. Nothing beats cranking it up to some Floyd and feeling the air moving and your walls shaking.

Wish I had the same chair in the poster. One day.

After reading this I searched through my old tapes, many of them new unopened, and found a lot of points. Is there still any way to redeem them?
