Court documents say that witnesses on a flight from Washington, D.C., to Los Angeles overheard Colton saying he was "a part of the 'second wave' of rioters" in the Capitol Building on Jan. 6.

The FBI confirmed that Colton was the person on that flight through a subpoena of passenger records.

Colton also allegedly showed cell phone pictures from what he called a "rally" at the Ellipse and video depicting struggles with law enforcement from inside the U.S. Capitol.

The FBI also served a search warrant for another individual who had received text messages from Colton, including images from inside the Capitol.
