There's too many resources out here now for anyone to stay with someone who's beating them. Anyone who stays and just sits there and gets hit without fighting back is weak. You have to like that shit.

1. Lack of knowledge about resources available for battered spouses in general.
2. Lack of knowledge about specific resources available for battered spouses in their situation.
3. Fear that nobody will believe them.
4. Belief that even with the abuse the benefits of remaining in the relationship outweigh the abuse.
