So far, I got one J&J shot when they first came out, and a Moderna booster.

I expect to get another COVID booster once a year, or maybe less often, for the rest of my life.

Like the yearly flu shot.

But if there's a second Booster that is designed just for Omicron, I'll get that too. Since we're at the New Year boundary, that would be my yearly shot for 2022 probably.

I'm an old man with multiple co-morbidities and I like to go out and do normal things (shopping, socializing/parties, dining, etc.)

So far, so good. But it seems like most people get Omicron. If I do, I expect to live through it due to my immune response from the boosters.

It would make sense, as in the flu shot and condoms, if something that has far far less than 100% efficacy, and an alarming side effect record, wasn't being mandated and used as a tool of socially accepted discrimination on people who do not want it.

“Alarming side effects” are experienced by a minuscule % of the people who got the vaccine. In June, there were just over 1,200 cases of myocarditis/pericarditis reported out of 300 million vaccines administered. For all vaccines administered, there were 12.6 heart inflammation cases per million doses. Statistically a drop in the bucket.
