I'm going to drive a truck for $100,000 a year

I have been on unemployment since March 2020 and now I have found my dream job. I am going to be a truck driver and make $100,000 a year.

Don't know about being rich but you can make decent money if you want it. We need truckers now more than ever.

Just don't do what my ex BIL did. He went trucking and 3 months later left my sister for some lot lizard. It's been two years now and she's still not over that Pedro. It was a perfect job for him. He didn't like bathing regularly. His lizard probably has that in common with him.

It helps if you have a Class A license. Actually, it's required. You also need a clean driving record. Very clean. You have to pass a physical and drug screening.

Somehow I think you're lacking all of those.

Trucking is a decent occupation, and you can make decent money, but getting started is tough. No one will hire you for local jobs without a year's experience OTR. And going OTR is not easy. You're out 3-4 weeks away from home. You're sleeping in your cab. The hours are long.

I'm working at home and making decent money, but I'm starting to see the end coming, probably around the beginning of 2022. So I've kept my Class A up to date and that's my fallback to keep everything going financially. I have mixed emotions. I love driving a tractor trailer. But you are away from home a lot. Not everyone you meet is nice, although a lot of them are. It just gets old fast.
