Xiden was going to be protested by a large number of graduates. Bad optics. He bowed out instead of getting publicly shamed. After the disaster at the Coast Guard Academy graduation, Xiden should sit in Delaware and let Major do the commencements. He would be less embarrassing biting everyone than when Xiden tries to speak.

South Bend is a liberal area that swung for Biden in 2020 and Hillary in 2016. There probably would be a few protestors who showed up, but since they’re not actually protesting anything, I doubt there would be enough to cause disruption. The average ND student isn’t religious. It’s not at all like Liberty or Oral Roberts University.

Nobody wanted Xiden there. Almost 5000 alumni signed a petition against allowing him to speak at the commencement and the right to life group on campus said they would have hundreds of protestors if he was allowed. Xiden got booed at the coast guard commencement. He is despised by all. At least he's unified the country around that.
