I try my best not to be racist and have taught my kids not to be either. For the most part, I think they have listened. Why can’t we all just get along. What do you say?

Real talk, I think institutional racism is an issue, though I know most whites cannot accept that it is real (it is). I will admit though that another problem is the unwillingness of many in the black community to look in the mirror at itself and realize that we are also responsible for some of the strife in our community. Too eager to blame the white man and expect him to right all the wrongs.

I am a sprinkler fitter and one of my mentors, who was racist himself told me once "the problem with you black chappies is you think that someone owes you something. You all haven't learned yet that if you want something, you gotta take it".

I am starting my own outsourcing company for contractors and part of my company culture will be to hire as many black youths as I can and instill this. mindset in them.

Greatest kid in the world, friendly, polite, trying to get through college. A little mixed up like all kids that age. I call him son and he calls me dad. Anyway, one night on the way to my house, he got pulled over for basically DWB. It made me realize I perceive the world differently and don’t really understand what it’s like to be him. Kinda sucks.
