Space Exploration and Development should be a non-partisan issue, but if the President isn't behind it, nothing will happen.

Trump actually put his support into the space program and resurrected the National Space Council with Mike Pence doing a great job in it. The White House issued seven Space Policy Directives that, hopefully, the Biden administration will continue to support. They are in the interest of both parties.

The establishment of the Space Force was only one of the Space Policy Directives, and was previously endorsed by President Obama. The Space Force is doing the same things the Air Force and other services have been doing all along. It's just the component that "organizes, trains, and equips" the military to fulfill tasks from the US Space Command, which is a unified command.

The other Space Policy Directives are critical to the nation. In fact SPD-7 which was just released addresses space-based Position Navigation and Timing (GPS) without which the Internet itself would not work.
