Hundreds of VMI cadets stood and cheered as a mobile crane pulled this symbol of hate from its base to be taken away and destroyed. This sets a great example for all the young men and women studying for a career in in the US military.

Symbol of hate? How about "symbol of treason, bondage, human trafficking, forced labor, hate, and white privilege."

They should put up a statue of Jackson waving the white flag just before he was shot and killed by his own troops.

Filling mass graves in places like Sharpsburg, Fredericksburg and Chancellorville with New Yorkers will be his everlasting legacy and the reason so many still honor his memory today.

Jackson was not just teaching his own slaves to read, it was a slave church comprised of multiple plantations. At the time a white man was required to be present at all slave church services to deter insurrectionist ideas. Jackson was the perfect man for the job in my opinion, but if his white neighbors had caught him he would have been beaten senseless and left for dead no joke. His is one Confederate statue that we need to put up more of. Rebellion against deep state corruption is something to be honored

Make one mistake and it wipes out all the good you did.

Stonewall Jackson was a strange man in many ways, especially by today's standards. But he was also a true genius who adhered to a moral code, which also would be strange by today's standards. Anyone who thinks the "moral codes" of today are things to admire is extremely ignorant anyways.

Share yur most heartwarming Stonewall Jackson memories here.
For me it is a hard choice between two. The first was Jackson's reply to Gen. Longstreet's question as to what must be done with all those Yankees arrayed before them on the plains of Fredericksburg? "kill em all, Sir, kill em all" was his reply.

Perhaps it was Manassas where a green New Jersey Brigade was sent out from Washington to investigate a ruckus at the rail junction where Jackson's Divisions were feasting on Union spoils. Jackson, seeing the Hell they were about to enter, in a moment of Christian compassion rode out in front to warn them what was about to happen. After being foolishly fired on to no effect, he road back to his assembled troops and ordered them to fire. What few Yankees were still standing after the first volley quickly threw away their guns and fled in all directions.

My favorite Stonewall story was his famous quote and actions at Chancellorsville against the Union army and General Joseph Hooker. When told by his aide de camp that Hooker was coming, Stonewall dropped his trousers and showed his erection, shouting “ Good, I hope that little whore is ready! They don’t call me Stonewall for nothing. Does she do anal?’

that was his catchphrase.

I bet he'd love to have given the bayonet to the trigger-happy North Carolinians who shot him, or the stretcher bearers who subsequently dropped him on the ground.

Virgil Caine is the name
And I served on the Danville train
'Til Stoneman's cavalry came
And tore up the tracks again
In the winter of '65, we were hungry, just barely alive
By May the tenth, Richmond had fell
It's a time I remember, oh so well
