The two Republican members of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers cast an unprecedented vote Tuesday against certifying the county's November election results for the county's 43 jurisdictions, including Detroit, Michigan's largest voting jurisdiction.

Monica Palmer, the Republican chair of the committee said: "I believe that we do not have complete and accurate information on those poll books," referring to jurisdictions, including Detroit, that recorded unexplained discrepancies between the number of absentee ballots recorded as cast and the number of absentee ballots counted.

When people vote, they want their votes to count.

As of the 11:00 news, they have reversed that decision and will certify.

Those republicans were trying to steal the election in Michigan.

How come all the actual attempts at election shenanigans are coming from Trumptards?

They were definitely trying to 1876 the election.

The game plan was that the Wayne County Republicans would refuse to certify. Then the state board would refuse to overrule. This would mean the outcome of the election would be uncertain throwing the choice of electors to the Republican controlled legislature which was expected to appoint pro-Trump electors. Even if the Michigan electors were rejected by the Congress, a distinct possibility, it would prevent Michigan electoral votes from being counted for Biden.

At some point someone realized that it was a stupid plan. Even without Michigan Biden had enough electoral votes to win. Rejecting the popular vote would create a precedent that Democrats could use in the future.
