The U.S. budget deficit widened to a record-high $864 billion last month due to the federal government’s extraordinary response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Treasury Department said on Monday. In June 2019, the budget deficit was just $8 billion.
Federal spending rose to more than $1.1 trillion in June, more than twice what the U.S. government spends in a typical month. The amount of tax revenue collected by the federal government remained largely flat, at about $240 billion, in part because the Treasury Department delayed the tax filing deadline until July. The huge surge in June pushed the budget deficit for the first nine months of the fiscal year to $2.7 trillion. June’s deficit figures highlights just how much havoc the coronavirus pandemic has wreaked on U.S. budgeting. In prior years, the federal deficit was considered large when it approached or eclipsed $1 trillion for an entire year. America spent about $2 trillion more than it took in in tax revenue from April to June alone.

The next trigger?
Libtards have not cared about deficits, but maybe now that Trump is spending more. Put this on the trigger list for next week. We'll see what else we can come up with and how many statues remain standing.

Im a lifelong conservative and am very pleased to see the deficit skyrocketing to record levels. We have slashed revenue and continue to outspend every administration in history. This will teach the liberals a real lesson so lets vote for another 4 years of skyrocketing debt and record unemployment. Also lets reduce revenue further by cutting all income tax to zero for those who earn 1 million or more annually - our Creators.

Great to see a lively conversation here! Yes our debt has skyrocketed under Mr Trump, that and of course all Confederate hero statues are being destroyed. Im hoping its kind of a 3d chess plan Trump is working on while golfing/watching FOX for 9 hours a day.

Trump hasn't even gotten started. MAGA is a dream you have to work for and maybe invest in for a little while before you get that huge return on investment. The cashflow projections and profit margins are going to be huge when Mexico pays for the Wall and China pays the tariffs, and the weather gets warm and the Covid disappears and the Democrats stop spreading the virus with their stupid lockdowns and facemasks.
