I'm not interested in spending more than ~500 bucks*. I live in a small place that I vacuum every two or three weeks whether it needs it or not.

Kirby for the win. They are heavy, so not for the weak.

I think Gerry would recommend Hoover wind tunnel. It’s the best for sucking.

I've head great luck with my little iRobot Roomba, but you also need a dustbuster. It vacuums once a week on it's own and does a damn good yob.

Between Gerry and his goat you are covered. What Gerry can't suck up, the goat will eat.

Getting a robo vac will make your life easier. Every room in our place gets vacuumed twice a week while we’re at work. Then i just walk around for a 2-3 minutes a week with a cordless handheld to get spots the roomba can’t reach. Our floors are usually super-clean, no dust to be found anywhere. They are worth the money.

These are the absolute BEST vacuums on the market. It the ONLY one that would pick up ALL the labrador hair. Dyson Animal was returned after 2 weeks later (awful, awful vacuum that would not pick up anything on carpet).

Shark stands behind these and the 5 year warranty is real. After hose rip just beyond the 5 year mark they sent a new one, no questions asked.

Got one of the DDyson Cyclone V10 Motorhead Cordless Vacuum reviewed by https://productadvisor.com/best/vacuums/for-hardwood-floors/ over the Christmas break and it’s very, very good. We have a mix of hard floors and carpeting and it seems to cope incredibly well with both. Just about do the the whole house on 1 charge so gave old wired one away!
