they weren't donating to ukraine seizing russian assets (for a payback later) because they knew it was a "get rich quick" scheme and it the wrong thing to do

USA has nothing to be ashamed of - the party involved is Russia - and russia has been using the world as a chess board for quite some time - no one is going to shed a tear because someone sold weapons or provided aid "in a manner that offends russia" because russia has made it their business to backstab anyone to make gains

(for example, aiding cuba for the advantage of placing nuclear missiles there - aiding terrorist iran to help their own oil industry, etc)
