I hope you aren't an Apple lover whos really hating on this. It's cool if you're a Linux user, which you probably are. Those people aren't bandwagon, but they hate the world.

Anyways, I didn't watch the stupid video, but I understand exactly where they are coming from. I've had probably I dunno 6-7 cell phones in my life. All of them had calendars, and I have never used one in my entire life. Never needed them in high school, never needed them in real world (we have other ways of keeping track of things).

No app store? Who cares? I have an I-touch and haven't used any of the applications other then "Paper Toss" for months. If you want to play games, play them on facebook.

P.S. QWERTY Keyboards are a million times better than apples digital one. I typo every other word on that bullshit.
I like the idea. It's a no frills phone that focuses on what people typically use with their phones. Facebook, Twitter, AIM, etc. Probably a browser too for "Googling". I dunno what else really you need an Iphone for, besides to set up your "diet" which you will forget about a week later.

I'm more interested in knowing how much the phone is compared to the $400 Iphone, and the $100 data plan that AT&T is offering.

It's better than the device that was nothing but a Twitter updater.

that's a pretty snazzy device. while i dont know if it's functionality is as good as advertised, it seems to be a good solution for the MyTwitFace addicts.

i dislike microsoft products is due to their flaws and having the inability to fix them. however, every once in a while they come out with something nice. of those things, the zune is not one of them but perhaps this one is.

i dont care at all because i do not have the need for a constant connection to the internet nor do i have accounts or even use any social networking sites.

load linux on the device and it might be a different story. ;D

The phone works great for people who do 90% social networking on their phone. Should be hit with high school and middle school kids.

who said it was going to "hurt" the iphone and how is not hurting the iphone make it a "FAIL Product"?

you may want to rethink your statements.

It will have its place and it has a clever ad campaign. Of course it won't unseat the iphone, that is a totally dumb benchmark to apply. At least it will outlast Palm :O. This device is perfect for teenagers and non-techical college students. That is a huge potential market.

Don't get me started on bluetooth earpieces.

No calender, no games, and no app store. These are things the target audience expects.

The iPhone and Blackberry are the archetypes of smartphones. This Microsoft Kin is too specific in its purpose to draw the market Microsoft wants. It's going to fail.

You still aren't getting it, this phone isn't meant to compete with smartphones. It competes with "feature phones." Again, what is the definition of
"fail"? Won't see version two? Perhaps, we'll see.

yes, there isnt an app store, the rest likely exist. i dont think you know what the target audience is because i know it's not people with money, it's kids.

Right...it's aimed at kids, and doesn't include games. It doesn't come with a calender, even though it is made for social networking....

This is going to go the way of the iPad. Yeah, the iPad will fail too.

the goal of the KIN was to have Windows CE run on a MADE IN CHINA competitor to iPod

ms at the time tampered with drivers to make usa hardware "act badly" (but, ie, scsi II certainly wasn't bad it was the drivers) and support asian hardware (which acted badly because the chinese hardware WAS bad). example: chinese printeres were supported but PDF printing was NOT. apple did the opposite and supported usa adobe printing not "simple bit hack china printing".

KIN failed but imagine if it hadn't: allot more of USA would be in the food stamp line

CE means "electronics from china". windows CE had an "appropriate label"

don't forget that, that's knowlege you still need. CE means chinese electronics per say

.
