question about illegals

If the uneducated low-income illegals coming to the United States are good for our economy, why weren't they good for Mexico's hideous economy?

Hey dumbass, the op asked why the people coming here illegally didn't make the mexican economy good. You are a complete idiot and you need to go back to school for a comprehension 101 refresher.

So all the money they are getting paid under the table tax-free isn't being spent here but instead being sent back to Mexico at a 16:1 exchange rate (one dollar = 16 pesos).

Let's say an illegal works 8 hours per day at $5/hr. That's $40/day tax free, which basically equates to $48/day if taxed.

$40/day times 5 days = $200/week times 50 weeks = $10,000/year tax free for an uneducated laborer

At 16 pesos per dollar, that comes to 160,000 pesos per year

The average computer programmer in Mexico makes 129,000 pesos per year

Haha...an uneducated laborer illegally in the US and not paying taxes on their income makes more money than an educated computer programmer in Mexico

Thank god for the illegals.

Funny when Alabama outlaws illegals and tried to get poor Americans to work in their fields. The Americans lasted about three days and then they gone.

The farmer went running to state capital to beg that the law be repealed so they save their farms. Dumb as conservatives always shooting themselves in their foot.

Comes to about $26 billion transferred out to Mexico in 2014. That's only the legal money transferred via electronic means which can be tracked.

Also does not include similar transfers to other Central American countries totaling about another $18 billion.

Bullshit. What actually happened is that they were replaced mostly by other legal immigrants from various countries.

You're an idiot. HB 56 in Alabama was a legal nightmare. It has nothing to do with working the fields.

Stop talking out your ass- It's impossible to get work Visa. The approval alone takes 1+ years. Then you have to win in the lottery.

To qualify for a family sponsored green card, you must have a very close relative who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder). Husbands and wives of U.S. citizens, parents of U.S. citizens, and children under the age of 21 of U.S. citizens (including step children) have top priority and can qualify for a green card relatively quickly. Other family members, such as husbands and wives of permanent residents, children over the age of 21 of U.S. citizens and permanent residents, and brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens can also qualify for family sponsored green cards. But, these family members must wait for a green card to be available (there are waiting lists), which can take anywhere from five to 15 years! Employment based green cards are often the best possibility for our clients. There are five types:

EB-1: for aliens with extraordinary ability, outstanding professors and researchers, or multinational business managers and executives.

EB-2: for aliens with exceptional ability or aliens with advanced degrees (employer/sponsor required)

EB-3: for professional workers (with university degree), skilled workers and unskilled workers (employer/sponsor required)

EB-4: for religious workers

EB-5: for aliens who invest $1 million and create 10 new full time jobs (in limited situations, an investment of $500,000 and the creation of 5 new jobs is acceptable).

Processing times for employment based green card vary widely. An EB-1 or EB-5 application can be approved in less than 1 year. However, an EB-3 application could take more than 5 years.

The green card lottery (diversity green card) is a government program designed to increase immigration from countries that do not produce a large number of immigrants to the U.S. Only people born in certain countries can qualify (for example, people born in Canada, Mexico, England, India, China, and the Philippines can not participate).

Each year the government selects 100,000 winners for 50,000-55,000 green cards. The government assumes that some winners will not qualify. The time to enter the green card lottery changes every year, but it is usually between October and December. For more information, see the government's Diversity Immigrant Visa Program.

B-1/B-2 Visitor Visas, which permit a visitor to remain in the U.S. for up to six month (employment is not permitted).

E-2 Treaty Investor Visas, which permit investors from certain countries to invest a substantial amount of money and acquire a controlling interest in an active U.S. business. The visa is issued for up to five years and is renewable. The investor can work in his or her own business. The spouse can qualify for an unrestricted temporary work card. Children up to the age of 21 can accompany the parents and attend school, but cannot work.

F-1 Student Visas, which permit foreign students to attend U.S. educational institutions. Limited employment is permitted in some cases.

H-1B Visas for Workers in Specialty Occupations, which permit employment of professional level workers by a sponsoring employer. The visa is issued for up to three years and can be renewed another three years (additional renewals are possible in some cases).

J-1 Visas for Participants in Exchange Programs, which permit business trainees to come to the U.S. to learn about an occupation or profession for up to 18 months.

K-1 Visas for a Fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen.

K-3 Visas for a Spouse of a U.S. citizen.

L-1 Visas for Multinational Managers, Executives and Specialized Knowledge employees who are being transferred to the U.S. by a related international company.

O-1 Visas for Aliens with Extraordinary Ability who are seeking temporary employment. This visa is issued for up to three years and can be renewed in one year increments.

P-1 Visas for Internationally Recognized Entertainment Groups and Athletes.

R-1 Visas for Religious Workers who are being transferred to the U.S. by a related international church.

TN Visas for certain professional workers from Mexico and Canada. This visa is issued for one year and can be renewed in one year increments.

They were mostly replaced by workers who already were here moron. Legal immigrant Haitians, Africans, Puerto Ricans, as well as native black and white workers.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2012-09-24/africans-relocate-to-alabama-to-fill-jobs-after-immigration-law

The state unemployment rate plummeted by 2 points in three months from 10% to 8%, then below the national average.

Contrary to left-wing pud media rather than suffering agriculture actually increased after (though the law in more recent years mostly was rendered useless due to Federal intervention).

Yeah really. Unskilled guys get about 15 or 16 and the talented ones go for 22 to 25 per hour cash on the spot. Most pablos are far more honest and reliable than Americans are.

So, you just augmented the point. Uneducated illegals make a lot of money in the US (more than educated people in Mexico) and not all of it goes to support the US economy.

You do know that many of the SE Asians working here legally on HB-1 visas send billions home annually in transfer payments as well, right? Transfer payment aren't just made by illegals.

That is a question you should be posing to all of the employers who hire them, and the customers who patronize those businesses because their prices are lower. Do you seriously believe that people are flooding into this country because they think we will be welcoming. NO. IT COMES DOWN TO JOBS AND MONEY. We need to stop blaming feel gooders and start laying the blame where it actually belongs.

The vast majority of such payments are to Mexico, followed by Central America. About $50 billion annually in total (again only counting legal transfers) of which about half is to Mexico. Another $18 - $20 billion to Central and South America. That's according to groups like the Pew, the US and Mexican governments, Bureau of Economic Analysis. The World Bank puts it closer to $100 billion but the ratios to Mexico and Central America are about the same. For some countries it's one of the largest single sources of funds. Up to about 3% of Mexico's GDP.

Yes, legally, and paying taxes. Thank you for assisting in the original idea about illegals not paying taxes and sending money back home to Mehico.

So why do they have to let illegals in from Mexico and south when there are thousands of Puerto Ricans--who were given US citizenship across the board, along with their Puerto Rican citizenship--imported to pick the crops as they were in the past before the borders were opened to anybody without citizenship? When I grew up there were Puerto Ricans who came in to pick crops, made their money and went home at the end of the seasons.

Mexico doesn't have corporations run by elitist, 1%er, libtards who could care less about human life and are only concerned about how much profit they can make. People like Bezos, Steyer and Soros rely on cheap labor no matter how many are killed trying to get here.
