He is the one who convinced Meade that he was descended from Pocahontas.

One of Meade's esteemed ancestors came to America and married a Native American woman. Native Oral History says that Pocahontas had a son by a previous marriage. That was enough for Deyo to surmise that it must have really been a daughter and that daughter was the maiden that married Meade and his common ancestor.

Wishful thinking and fire water do make for a more interesting History than reality.

Of course, there is a small remote chance if all the stars aligned.

William Deyo presents it as a certainty.

This is why he is a fraud.

Deyo searched and searched and searched because he just knew he was descended of Pocahontas He found a place where he could insert Pocahantus into his family tree. He allegedly has a native American female ancestor(even that is in dispute). Her mother's name has been lost to time. Pochantus may have had a son from a previous marriage. Deyo figured that must be actually a daughter and therefore my ancestor because Pocahantus' daughter is the only Native American maiden of marrying age around at that them....QED

Given what we've witnessed from Uncle Joe and the dems, I can guess which party of settlers took in the little girls.
