You must not attend may congressional hearings. It's highly unusual for a person testifying to bring in suitcases full of documents. Usually, they bring in a small folder with some prepared comments. All of that content has been previously given to the committee for review before the hearing.

If he had one damning piece of evidence that would be all it took for the congressional dems to impeach.

Sure they do. I see it all the time. Trade associations, labor unions, etc. have fly in days many times a year where citizens come and directly lobby their Representatives. When many are on their last day of the trip, they bring their carry on suitcase with them as they are heading straight to Reagan National after their last meeting. Besides, Cohen was an invited witness. They bring suitcases all the time as they are heading out of town as soon as their hearings end.

Take my cellphone into hearings all the time. He likely left his suitcase in the anteroom, but not necessarily. Unless it’s a high profile hearing, police don’t monitor the doors. You can walk in and walk out as you please with a cellphone in your pocket, or purse in your case.
