When politicians oppose the president, those politicians should have to live in the hood, the most ghetto dangerous areas known.
No house, no families house, you stay at a run down crack head motel.

Let's see:

Free public transportation in Maryland
Mortgages paid in D.C.
Free meals at numerous places (Jose Andres, etc.)
Free beer
Free spaghetti dinners at Churches and Lodges
Interest free loans
They can go on vacation and it will not count against their leave balances
Free groceries at numerous charitable organizations
Free food for their pets at a pet store in Vienna

Are these people actually going to want to go back to work anytime soon? If you do have sufficient savings, yet take advantage of all the "free stuff" your laughing at this point.

what should be done when politicians oppose the president?

Since we don't live in a country that has a presidential dictatorship other politicians have the right, and sometimes even the duty to oppose the president. Ronald Reagan and LBJ both understood it is the president's job to be the cheerleader in chief, whipping up popular enthusiasm and lining up votes to push through their agenda. Trump sucks at this. Obama wasn't much better.
