As a major fighting service they arrived in 1965. As stated above there were Marines in Vietnam until 1975 , the last US troops out of Vietnam were US Embassy Marines, of the Marine Embassy Security Guards, there were some other Marines in other security details mostly guarding areas after 1971
The last official combat action of troops was in 1973 with the US Army around May. US Marine Security Guards in Saigon were also in a combat action near the airport on the last days the USA was in Vietnam 2 died and were the last two US servicemen killed in Vietnam

I'm sorry but the Indian guy was complete and total asshole. He wasn't just banging the drum but he was also only a foot from the kid's face yowling and howling loudly and obnoxiously. What dick. Considering he walked over there and confronted the kid he honestly is lucky he didn't get counter-assaulted (one could argue he was assaulting the minor). But based on his past race-baiting tactics I suspect that's actually what he was trying to provoke. So good on the kid to just let him make a total ass of himself.
