Enter now the revelation that Manafort and Assange met in March 2016 - immediately before Paul became Chairman of Trump for President Campaign and only a month before the release of emails stolen from Hillary by Russia and given to Wiki to disrupt the election.

It is true that the media has got some wrong over the last two years, although I would argue you have a better chance of learning objective facts from WAPO and CNN. But that is not the point. Mueller is not the media.

Mueller has alleged that Manafort violated the terms of the plea agreement by breaching the requirement that Manafort provide truthful information if and when requested. He will have to detail these lies, and the evidence he relies on to prove they are lies in open court. The beauty of this, and this is the most important consideration, is that Mueller does not need to get permission from Whitaker to do this, in fact, he will be required to do so by the Court. Unlike the report to Congress, this can't be buried.

So Mueller, at least as far as Manafort is concerned, has to put up or shut up. And Trump is squealing like he has been grabbed in a particularly sensitive spot. OP has interesting speculation on that point. Don't know if it is accurate, but none of the other reasonable scenarios turn out well for Trump either.

Any guesses aa to what Manafort lied about?
