is "pig-latin" an offensive term?
Posted by: just askin' ()

i mean in these times it has to be. right?

i know kids aren't even allowed to say sitting "indian style" anymore. they say crisscross applesauce. (how gay is that?)

i'm sure that term indian style has a different meaning now anyway thanks to the internet.

When I was in 4th grade, "crisscross applesauce" was the practice of sneaking up behind someone, drawing an "X" on their back with your finger while saying "crisscross," then kneeing them right on the tailbone while saying "applesauce."

If the kid was smaller than you, it was also acceptable to knee them on the tailbone a second time while saying, "with cinnamon."

Point is, if I'm around and someone says "crisscross applesauce," watch your butt.

Actually, when I'm around, you need to watch your butt anyway. Because of all the rapes I do.

Hmm. Now in preschools that term is what teachers use to tell kids to sit down Indian-style. I guess because they can't say "Indian-style" anymore. Wait until the tortured crushed apples have their social revolution, you won't be able to say "applesauce" either.

Nope, especially in NoVA with a huge Indian population (from India) when the term referred to Native Americans. I suppose they could say "sit Native American-style" but "crisscross applesauce" just works better.

These days you can't stick a race or pretty much any kind of group descriptor in front of a noun and have it be politically correct or non-offensive. That is why we now need new terms, dumbed-down silly terms, etc. to make our discourse as non-offensive as possible.

Someone sure has a hard on for MrMephisto and I. Seems like the two of us were hard on someone recently, a certain ChuckHoffman. I'm sure it's just a coincidence. I'm sure Chuckie isn't chickenshit enough to anonymously troll.

I always thought Indian Giver was meant for whites not Indians (Native American) It was after all the whites who gave reservation land to the Indians and then took it away. They gave freedoms to the Indians and then took it away. Giving and taking what was never owned by the whites in the first place.
