I Work With An Alcoholic That Always Comes To Work Banged Up

This guy comes into work about once every two weeks with a black eye or scrapes somewhere on his body. He always smells of wine. To me, it's obvious that he's a total drunk that drinks too much, then falls down and hurts himself.

I would normally mind my own business, but I think I should try to help this poor guy before he ends up dead from his lack of self-control.

At one of my first jobs as an office gopher the guy who was the head of the accounting dept would come back just absolutely ripped every day after lunch. One day they had me clean out his office while he was out. Came back and was yelling "WHERESH MYS STUFFZH!?! WHO TOOK MY STUFFZH!?!" Funny as shit. Then they threw his drunk ass out of the building.

Talk to the guy in a nonjudgmental way in private, but don't report him to management. You can try and help him, but he won't change unless he wants to.
