FDR did a third term. What's good for a Dem. should be good for a Republican I have heard. Why not? Would you vote for Trump in 2024? An old Trump is always better than a younger Chelsea Clinton who will certainly be the choice of libshits.

FDR was the first president elected to more than two terms. He wasn't the first president to try for a third term.
Grant left office in 1877 after having served two terms. In 1880 he tried to run for a third term but was beaten out for the Republican nomination by Garfield.
Teddy Roosevelt served out most of McKinley's term and then was elected in his own right. After leaving office in 1909 he ran again in 1912. After an unsuccessful effort to win the Republican nomination he ran as an independent.
