I have to leave this area. Its too expensive everyone thinks they/ their job is so important, and I can’t get a decent paying job to save my life. I’m thinking of just hitting the reset button and then moving somewhere else to get my shit together. Was thinking Denver or maybe Phoenix. Maybe Portland.

It’s cheap, great economy and lots of opportunities. Have a buddy that moved down there a few years back and found a job selling healthcare software. They trained him, put him through business school and even helped find a place. I’ve heard the gas/oil industry is equally generous if you Network. It’s fun as hell down there too. If you feel the burning need to return here, you could find a lobbying job in one of those lucrative industries I mentioned.

force the highest paid county "chiefs" out of their homes with CLAWBACK laws, buy a reasonable home (or condo) with part of the proceeds. this is a pain in the ass because there are now thousands of them and to prevent "greedy government" from upping their pay to fill the same mc'mansions: they'd have to become two family housing

The city of "Second Chances" is Las Vegas. You can get a decent paying job, affordable housing, and all the city has to offer. Any hiring representative will tell you this. They will, despite your background, give you a second chance, as long as you DONT GAMBLE. Then the city will become hostile and unforgiving.
