Communist Alexandria VA threatens students with un-announced WEAPON FIRE in school, endangering students for real.

The usual intent of communists with weapons is to brandish them to assert "they are in charge and have such power". I'm sure all the communist students are now more loyala.

This is the second gun that I know of that has gone off in a school by authorized personnel in the last week. And these rightards want to arm everyone.

Few people seem to mention that this teacher was an OFF-DUTY COP, and that he discharged the weapon during a gun safety demonstration being given to the students. Which by the way, happens a lot, considering who and what it's supposed to be.

Here's what I think we need:

1. Specially trained cops (probably more than one) at every school, full-time.
Training includes:

(a) Dealing with students, teachers and school/classroom daily situations. Because mostly, this is different than dealing with the public on the streets. We're talking about common classroom violence, protecting teachers and students from other students, how to respond to smack talking asshole teenagers (hint: don't just taze them as a matter of course), etc. Also, rules and procedures for searches, drug arrests, etc.

(b) Special tactical training for the two kinds of serious violence problems you're going to see. That is knives and handguns in close-quarters, and terror activities. The latter includes bombs and usually rifles, multiple shooters. First responder training (school scenarios) for hostages and such. Evacuation. Communication protocols. School (premises) specific training.

2. Getting rid of the "Gun Free Zone" aka the Killing Zone.

(a) Allow SOME teachers to concealed-carry their guns in the classroom. To have this special authorization, the teacher has to have special training, beyond what is required for a normal CCW. In addition to the basics, they have to have particular tactical marksman and scenario training. Training and proper equipment for keeping the gun concealed. (Ideally students should never know which teachers are the ones carrying.) Also some psychology and legal training to help with their judgement calls about pulling out their secret weapon. (For example, being threatened verbally or with a knife, even, probably better to call the school police.)

As for REQUIRING teachers to carry a gun: nobody in their right mind has ever made such a suggestion for public schools. Teachers are trained and have the skills and disposition to TEACH, not to be paramilitary agents.

(b) Allow people to have their guns secured in their cars. This is already legal in many places.

3. Facility Physical Security. Studies have shown that metal detectors "do not work", so not sure about them. But at least some of those results had to do with the school not being able to afford the upkeep of the machine and poor training. But for sure, the way the door locks and their policies work needs to be studied from a tactical point of view. Terrorists seem to be able to (a) get in the building even if they are not supposed to be there (b) exploit the locks to capture, segregate, and deny (c) locks don't seem to be providing shelterable rooms for people under attack.

Some schools in California have "open" classrooms, and there is not even a school boundary fence or anything. They might have to build something.

All schools need special close communication with local police, and there needs to be enough police to respond to these things immediately. That means specific communications systems and protocols. Right down to Panic buttons that people can push (that alerts a person at the school who can decide what to do). Probably need more cameras and communications that work better than cell phones. But also the communications mix needs to handle cell phone calls when 200 students try to phone or text at once that someone is shooting them.

This is all going to cost a LOT of money.
There are some half-assed lame versions of some of this shit already.
SORRY. MORE MONEY. LOTS OF IT. RECURRING YEARLY.

As for people complaining that we are militarizing the schools or making the kids afraid that someone might be coming after them...SORRY SNOWFLAKE. GET FUCKING REAL HERE. If you don't like it, home school your kids or something.

If you can hot Israeli chicks to walk around with machine guns, extra points for you.
