He thinks he's going to get some money out of eesh, or at least get to torment him, so he has something to live for.
Now, if the settlement gets thrown out, or if tootguy simply decides the moronos can't afford to keep dumping money down the eesh/leiser sewer, then miz might lash out. He might kill tootguy, he might kill himself, he may drive down to Henrico and kill eesh, or he may go full postal.

Is Leiser even in business anymore? Didn't they go bankrupt? I bet they thought Eesh was the big payout!

Per the bankruptcy paperwork (which can be found in the lizzie thread) it seems that, a couple of years ago, they simply quit paying any bills. Any bill that couldn't be put off they put on their credit card. Speculation si that Phil invested it all in lottery tickets, or real estate.
Their web page is still up, and BTW indicates David still works there. He would probably like to sue them for that, but knows he wouldn't ever see a dime. It would be like trying to get money by suing eesh.

It makes sense now, David worked for over a year on the eesh case and never saw a dime from the Leisers because eesh is broke as fuck! David walked as he saw the firm was a sinking ship and was pissed off about not getting paid.
