Trump Has Caved in to Every Big Lobbying Group in Washington

First, Trump says he wants to dismantle the Clean Power Plan because it represents what he calls "job-killing regulation." False -- limited losses in some sectors are dwarfed by gains in others.

Trump's climate policies put China in charge of our future

The potential for job growth in the clean energy sector dwarfs any potential job growth in the fossil fuel economy. For example, Trump promised the Keystone XL pipeline would create 28,000 jobs when he approved the project. But he had to use a huge multiplier to get to even that low number. In fact, it would create about 3,000 temporary construction jobs and only 35 permanent jobs. That's right: 35 permanent jobs.

Cuyahoga River - polluted from decades of industrial waste - caught fire on a Sunday morning in June 1969 near the Republic Steel mill, causing about $100,000 worth of damage to two railroad bridges, burning down hundreds of warehouses and destroying many ships and small businesses on the waterfront.

Estimated property damage was in the millions with countless jobs lost.

Put all your investment money in clean energy.

call me when solar panels can take off a jet. Clean energy is solar panels which have been around since the 60's and suck.

Wind mills? Don't make me laugh. anything else will be free so how hard will it be to copy? There are no jobs in clean energy.

So should we just go back to wood burning steam machines?

No jobs in clean energy?

According to Mercom Capital Group, a market intelligence firm based in Austin, Texas, Japan is forecasted to have 8 gigawatts (GW) of solar installations in 2017. To put this in perspective, Japan had more solar installed capacity in 2015 than any country other than Germany and China.

The staggering expansion of solar in Japan is beginning to pose challenges to the nation’s fragmented electric power grid, which encompasses a system of relatively isolated grids controlled by local utility monopolies.

It's not about now, so much as it is about the future. clean coal is sustainable in the short term, but in order for us to cut down our carbon footprint, and lay the path for renewable forms of energy, we need to start laying the ground work for it now. We need to gradually phase out coal usage. Some who are in the coal industry will be able to switch over to the clean energy field and some won't. It will be sad for the ones who can't, but if a few thousand lose their job in exchange for cleaner sustainable energy, than so be it.

That's the thing Trumptards don't seem to understand. When industries change or collapse, there are always opportunities for those who lost jobs to gain new skills and new positions. It's one of those things they just don't understand. They pine for these lousy fucking jobs only because there pappy and grandpappy did. Pittsburgh for example was at the heart of the steel and coal industry until about the 80's.

Instead of crying about it, the found another niche in the form of technology and banking. They may not be as prosperous as they were before, but they didn't become Cleveland, Detroit, Baltimore or any of these other cities whose folks who felt they needed to stay in the 19th century.
