They were flying for free on the United Airlines family plan. It's the same rules as United employees flying between stops. The employee policy has guidelines on how "employees" should dress for the free flights. You're suppose to dress up when using the free seats or jump seats.

I work for a company that has this privilege and the rule is strict - business casual. If you can't or won't comply, you don't fly.

The real answer is, they had already agreed to not show up looking like tramps, and then they did.

Totally untrue. All were teenagers. What country are you from asshole?

But this is so typical of American teens. Rule don't apply to me. I want to be comfortable. I can wear what I want. The bottom line is they were flying on free employee tickets. Shut up and put on some clothes you spoiled brats. They were probably hoping to join the mile high club on the trip.

So blame their mom, but don't blame United Airlines, who made their requirements very clear at the time the Employees & Family tickets were issued.

Yes, because 10-year olds have to maintain "professional" standards. Just admit it's a stupid rule from the 1950s and shouldn't spply to kids. The airlines with their unions haven't caught up to the modern world. If they cared about professional appearance they'd make both flight attendants and pilots drop some pounds. The whole industry is overweight.

Hijacking thread alert...

While I respect United's privilege to run its airline anyway it wants...to include the rules governing pass holders' dress codes...

These policies while common at all airlines were created because as an employee, or family of employees (which is what pass holders are) are viewed to be "representing the airlines" and should dress accordingly.

As a member of the general public, without access to the passenger manifest, how the fuck am I suppose to know that a passenger on my plane is an airline employee or family of an employee and that I would eveb draw any assumptions about them based on their appearance?

Hell...anybody ever been on ANY outbound flight from Las Vegas on a Sunday night? Every plane is a stripper hauler taking tits and ass home that were flown in for the weekend...those girls wear far less than yoga pants.

My god, you are stupid. Because she's 10, she can show up looking like a whore even though whoever procured the tickets was warned, "If you don't comply, you don't fly!"
You are a jackass.
