I have stood by both amused and bemused by the cries from people on the left and the right that the other's candidate is a lyer, or a whiner, or a misogynist or whatever accusation you wish to impose. In my summation, this is missing the big picture. I myself am a centrist and my political views are what I would describe is Machiavellian. Machiavelli is a particular hero of mine, and I think the message he gives to politicians, or to the populace are quite invaluable.
It's inconsequential whether a candidate is honest, is nice or politically correct. What matters is their intellect, their ability to perform the office and their willingness to do ANYTHING that is deemed necessary, whether it is immoral or unethical for the well being of the Republic. Hillary lied about her emails? So what. Donald made lewd comments about women's genatalia? Big whoop. Hillary is a cold-hearted technocrat who will say or do whatever she needs to get her way? Excellent. Donald doesn't give two shits what you, or I or anyone thinks about his proposed policies? I like that.
The question you should be asking yourself in November is;
Who would be Machiavelli's ideal "Prince"?
