Fox News gets a million 5 viewers and these righties think its ground breaking influence.

What matters is the legitimacy of Fox News in the minds of normal Americans, it has lost that a long time ago. Fox News has become more than irrelevant.

If MSNBC gets 800k viewers that consist of 10 million people that watch periodically vs Fox News getting 1.5 million loyal viewers of a smaller overall pool of 5 million people.

MSNBC is more influential. Thats what matters. Objectivity and trust in the information by a wider overall audience. Not just loyal viewership.

The question of influence on the American people can't be measured by the fact that they got 5 or 6 hundred thousand more viewers at any given time slot. There are a more factors that go into such an analysis.

I do know that Fox News has lost a great deal in terms of legitimacy and when it comes to the illusion of objectivity and that is a damning trajectory.

The median age of Fox News viewers is 68 and rising the worst of any of the cable networks. Its a dying retirement community.

And actually, no, it's not. I know that you're just parroting what you read elsewhere, but you/they misunderstand the nature of that number. It's a median based on rating blocks not actual viewer age. By that same measure, MSNBC’s median age is 61 and CNN is 60.

It's also been "truth enhanced" since the ratings agencies don't even track at that level of granularity and specificity. The age grouping breaks at 65 and over. There's no measuring on which to base a "68" number beyond that. At best you'd have to accurately characterize it as 65+.

You have to appreciate the irony of Mediamatters calling something a propaganda machine.

Fox dominates every rating and you know that just from the constant attacks progressives make on it. They view it as a threat to their lies and propaganda. Fox has been the one proven right basically every time about the Obama blunders when everyone else was calling them liars.

If fox didnt matter progressives wouldnt be constantly attacking it
