It's enough gun to fill your Muslime ass full of holes.

Bushmasters are bare bones but they kill just like the more expensive ones.

Responsible gun owners don't brag online about their guns. Anyone that buys guns to sound tough, should not be able to buy guns.

Actually, the Gunner's Guru, Col. Jeff Cooper, said several times on his webpage re: the Steyr Mannlicher Scout rifle, "I've got mine!"

Bought one last year. I put a Nikon 1.5 x 4.5 on and it shoots really well. Seems to like the 62 grain ammo best.

So what is considered a good AR-15? I am not looking to plug any police or any specific ethnic groups, just want recommendations on a good quality rifle. Thanks.

I have a Colt. Not cheap. Definitely the most solid AR I've ever shot.

It's your shame that you never shot one in defense of the United States. But someone has to be the chickenshit.

They are all about the same really. Don't get all caught up in the mil-spec minutia that the wannabe tactical SPECOPS toolbags will toss out to make themselves feel cool. If you buy an AR from a quality manufacturer, there's about a 98% chance it will be just fine for you.

Ruger AR, Smith & Wesson M/P, Bushmaster, Colt, Stag, DPMS.....

Decide if you want a standard (20") length barrel or carbine (16") and the barrel twist rate (1-7,1-8,1-9) and narrow it down. No need to spend more that $6-800 on a good rifle.

I'm the one who asked about recommendations. I did serve in the military and have shot M-16's in various configurations. I very little about the civilian versions and am currently in the market for one. As said, I'll probably use it more shooting targets than actual zombies, and I doubt that any riots will make their way out this far into the suburbs.

So Colt it is?

I wouldn't know a "quality manufacturer" from a medium or low-quality one. Obviously I have heard of Colt and Smith & Wesson.

I don't recommend guns, like a person to make his own choice. I do have opinion but every body has one. I think the ruger ar556 is a solid rifle. Mine runs the xm855 62 grain like a champ and I would take it to war with me rather than M4 or M16. It is important to learn to take care, tear down, clean and oil. The majority ARs are well put together with tight tolerances what make them accurate. AKs are cheap mass made and lack tight tolerance and you can't hit shit that you want beyond 50yrds that why we call them spray and pray. Good buy.

Bye the way BLM has declared war on police and whites

It's easy to find quality AR15s. One can't go wrong with a nice BMC, Daniel's Defense, or most Colts.

Gerrymanderer should be on the FBI watch list if he isn't already. They should detain him just to be safe in my opinion. He clearly shouldn't be in America. He belongs in the street sewer system in India.

To a large degree you get what you pay for. Sure you'll get a nice AR for $800 but you'll need to spend more for a quality AR. If you only want to buy one it would best to start in the $1300 range and likely need to be in the $1500-1600 to get a great rifle.

All ARs are measured against mil-spec. It is the bare minimum standard to ensure basic compatability with industry standard parts. Many manufactures exceed mil-spec and they cost more to produce hence more to purchase.

Spend as much as you can afford. In the long run you won't outgrow the arm once you compare it next to a better model. You won't regret the better purchase.

That's ridiculous. That's like saying it would be best to start with a Beretta A400 or Benelli Super Vinci shotgun to hunt with. You may end up there, but there is no reason to just go all in on one to begin with, especially when there are many high quality, perfectly serviceable firearms available at a lower price point.

Besides, what's wrong with owning more than one?

Honestly, unless you have select fire on your AR, it's not milspec anyway so what's the point in worrying about it? Unless you are going to sit in your basement and swap parts around on all your AR's on Friday night......
