I don't know if some of you remember me. I posted here a couple of months ago seeking advice on how to cope with a significant loss after a weekend of irresponsible gambling. The post generated a large amount of support and replies.

I just wanted to give everyone an update who cared enough to kindly respond. I accepted full responsibility for my actions, there is no denying such. My fiancé left me immediately after she heard the news. Money is replaceable, however she isn't and had every right to leave. I truly do miss her but we are still in contact. I pleaded with my family and begged them to help me out after literally kicking, screaming, and crying. I moved into a small apartment in Fairfax to get my life back on track. Of course I lost my job after the incident since it affected my background and was deemed "unfavorable action." I'm currently in the process of finding another job but gladly accepted a position as a department manager for a well known clothing retailer. My parents are assisting with my finances as well.

To all who may have a compulsive addiction like I still have, seek help before it's too late. Talk to a support group, a circle of friends who you can trust, family, religious leaders, anybody who can point you in the right direction. I lost my fiancé, home, car, job, and self worth after what happened. Don't let it happen to you.

If this is you I though you SO was your wife, not fiance.

And how would you get fired for losing money? How would your job even know? Unless you have a job that requires a clearance...maybe then it would be an issue but probably not

I call BS.

If you're addicted, it's already too late...
