ALEXANDRIA, Va. (ABC7) — A former computer science student accused of supporting ISIS appeared in an Alexandria Federal Court Friday.
Prosecutors believe 20-year-old Ardit Ferizi stole and released personal information on more than a thousand soldiers and government employees.
The Kosovo native was arrested in Malaysia last fall.
Our ABC7 reporter Stephen Tschida was in the courtroom with Ferizi today. Tschida says Ferizi is a tall strapping guy, who is clean shaven, and doesn't have the look of the expected ISIS supporter or sympathizer. Tschida also says Ferizi was somewhat jovial in court today when speaking with his Albanian translator.
If convicted, Ferizi faces up to 35 years in prison.
