Misleading Advertising

So I was watching the end of the football game yesterday and saw an interesting ad for a car which included a lot of “regular” folks exclaiming over the car and its various wonderful features -- thinking it was probably a Lexus or some other luxury vehicle. Then it was “revealed” the car was a Chevy Malibu.

After which the “regular” folks were asked to guess what the price was. If I recall they were guessing in the 60K range. Then it was revealed that the list price was … $22,500!!!!!! In very large typeface the $22,500 was shown on the screen.

But at the very end of the ad there was a small typeface disclaimer indicating that the vehicle with all the features shown in the ad actually had a starting list price of $36,500. Whoever created that ad needs to be summarily fired.

Not that I would ever drive a Chevy... but still.

The new Chevy SS gives the M5 and german high end cars a run for its money. Big LS3 V8, RWD, nice interior.

Whether it's a Chevy or Lexus, it doesn't matter if someone's asshole explodes on the leather upholstery.
