How does that differ from what the rest of the entertainment industry has given us? Why aren't you out there crusading against the music industry or the movie and TV industry?

This shit has been going on as far back as ancient Pompeii, and football's contribution to society today is the same as the gladiators' contribution to society back then.

Right now, FCPS is in the hole financially.

There's been some discussion of cutting football.

All sorts of people have stood up and acted like football is essential, football is so important, football is what makes America great.

These rape scandals show that football is not all that.

Did the FCPS chess team rape, urinate, and video? No. How about the percussion section of orchestra? No to that too. Same holds true for the astronomy club.

Also, those organizations are not feted-no homecoming for algebra.

What did Shakespeare give us? Drama that will be performed forever. What did Joe Paterno give us? A cover up of a pedophile.

But, the discussion here goes back to the FCPS budget. Too much money on football in proportion to its TRUE VALUE.

The world does not revolve around football. People got by for thousands of years without it. Whole sections of the world do just fine without it.

Places like Ohio, Texas, and Fairfax seem fixated on it.

It costs a lot of money and the players are allowed to do anything they want because it is football.
